92 PCMA CONVENE MARCH 2014 PCMA.ORG
If there is any place that understands the
importance of hospitality, it’s America’s
First Resort Destination — the Palm Beaches.
Made up of Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Jupiter, Palm Beach, and a string of other cities
along Florida’s southeastern coast, the destination has 15 shopping and dining districts
and more than 160 golf courses, and can host
meetings and events that are as entertaining
as they are inspirational.
More than 200 hotels scattered throughout the county offer a total of 16,000 rooms
and 1 million square feet of meeting space.
Plus, at the center of the event scene is the
350,000-square-foot Palm Beach County
Convention Center. This past December,
officials broke ground on the 403-room Hilton West Palm Beach. The highly anticipated
hotel will be the first to have a direct connection to the convention center and is expected
to open in 2015 with a 225-seat restaurant,
two ballrooms, eight conference rooms, and
plenty of outdoor event space.
