When it comes to measuring what people gained from
attending their conference, respondents indicated that
feedback forms have not been all that successful. They feel
most confident about measuring whether attendees get
practical insights and are able to learn key concepts; less
so about whether attendees are able to apply what they
learned back on the job; and were least sure about measuring whether learners remembered what they had learned
when they returned to work. Overall, for the five questions
asked, Thalheimer said, “people don’t think they’re doing
much to measure these key things.”
‘Everyone — young
and old — is on their
phones. We could get
more responses if
people could answer
the feedback forms
on their phone in
real time.’
