With close proximity to Salt Lake City and
its international airport, Utah Valley is a rarity in the world of meeting destinations for
having both the conveniences of an urban
metropolis while still retaining its natural
Western beauty. Visitors can easily get to
Utah Valley via Provo Municipal Airport and
Salt Lake International Airport. Attendees
arriving via the latter can connect to Provo
via the light rail and the FrontRunner commuter rail. Throw in a;ordable accommodations and a friendly atmosphere, and it is no
wonder why Utah Valley is a consistent top
pick of meeting planners.
An eco-friendly design, a state-of-the-art
infrastructure, and beautiful views make the
Utah Valley Convention Center in downtown
Provo an ideal venue for almost any event.
This LEED Silver–certi;ied facility has 83,578
square feet of combined meeting and pre-
function space, including a rooftop garden
for outdoor events and the largest ballroom
in the county. The adjacent 330-room Provo
Marriott Hotel & Conference Center has
28,000 square feet of meeting space.
New development is in the works. Plans
call for construction to begin this year on
a new, 130-room Hyatt Place hotel next to
the Utah Valley Convention Center, as well
as a 100-room Marriott Residence Inn in
Provo. Work has already begun on a new bus
rapid transit (BRT) system. Expected to be
operational in 2019, the BRT will connect pas-
sengers with Provo and Orem’s major retail
centers, universities, and hotels, as well as the
Utah Valley Convention Center.
Downtown Provo has more than 50 res-
taurants, so there are plenty of places for
groups meeting at the Utah Valley Conven-
tion Center to gather for a bite. New spots
include Lucy’s Brazilian Kitchen, Station
22, Good Thyme Eatery, and CHOM Burger.
There are also more ways to get to Utah Valley.
Allegiant Air recently added a new route from
San Diego to Provo. Currently, visitors can ;ly
direct to Provo from San Diego, Oakland/San
Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix/Mesa.
