Meeting planners who haven’t been to Boise
lately are missing out on one of the most
vibrant cities in the western United States.
In fact, USA Today ranked Boise among the
“Best Travel-Worthy State Capitals” in 2015.
With nonstop air service from 20 major U.S.
cities, getting to Boise is a breeze, and so is
getting downtown: The airport is just a seven-minute drive away.
In the heart of downtown is Boise Centre,
Idaho’s largest convention and event venue.
Boise Centre completed a highly anticipated expansion this past September, adding
eight new meeting rooms ;illed with natural
daylight, a new ballroom, and a spacious,
glass-enclosed lobby that overlooks the
civic plaza and fountain below. All of Boise
Centre’s 86,000 square feet of event space
— perfect for larger conventions, trade shows,
and events. This month, a new concourse
will be completed, and in the summer, a new,
4,200-square-foot junior ballroom will open.
As for accommodations, Boise has
hotels to suit every style, from modern and
boutique, with several properties within
walking distance of Boise Centre. Most also
o;er complimentary airport-shuttle service.
New hotels are opening near Boise Centre to
accommodate the increase of visitors. The
113-room Inn at 500 Capitol opened in early
2017, and a 152-room Hyatt Place and a 180-
room Residence Inn by Marriott will open
later this year.
Meeting in Boise is also a smart business
decision, as several Fortune 500 companies
call the destination home. It’s also just plain
enjoyable. Surrounding Boise Centre is a walkable, compact downtown ;illed with shops,
dining, breweries, nightlife, and cultural attractions, all with a fun and hip vibe. There is also
plenty of recreation nearby for the adventurous, including white-water rafting and skiing.
For a quick run or bike ride, the 25-mile Boise
River Greenbelt bicycle and pedestrian path
conveniently runs through the city.
