Meeting in the ATL Airport District puts many
conveniences at a planner’s doorstep. The
world’s busiest airport, for one, as well as the
second-largest convention center in Geor-
gia, plus more than 8,000 hotel rooms and
some very cool group-friendly attractions.
Compared with staying in downtown Atlanta
(just a 10-minute MARTA ride away), groups
can save up to 30 percent by meeting in the
District. Not only is it a smart choice, it’s an
When attendees arrive at Hartsfield-Jack-son Atlanta International Airport, they’re just
a two-minute ATL Sky Train ride away from
the 400,000-square-foot Georgia International Congress Center (GICC), home to the
city’s largest ballroom as well as 150,000
square feet of dedicated exhibit space,
90,000 square feet of prefunction space, and
16,000 square feet of meeting space. Planners will find every resource they need on
site, including an in-house audiovisual team
and a full-service caterer.
Two LEED-certified convention hotels
directly connect to the GICC — the 403-room
Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway and the 147-
room SpringHill Suites Atlanta Airport Gateway. Nearby, the new, 204-room Renaissance
Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel, which groups
can reach via the ATL Sky Train, offers the
Hickory & Hazel bar and restaurant plus more
than 6,000 square feet of meeting space,
including a 3,345-square-foot ballroom. One
big perk of meeting in the District — most
hotels offer free airport-shuttle service.
With downtown Atlanta a quick MARTA or
taxi ride away, attendees can easily squeeze
in visits to the city’s most popular attractions.
But they’ll be happy to know that the District
has plenty to do and see as well. They can
take a behind-the-scenes tour of Chick-fil-A’s
home office, explore the history of one of aviation’s most well-known names at the Delta
Flight Museum, or test drive a Porsche at the
Porsche Experience Center Atlanta (which
offers multiple spaces for group gatherings).
And this being the South, groups won’t have
to go very far for a good meal. They’ll find
everything from classic meat-and-three and
barbecue to upscale steakhouses and international options like Jamaican and Ethiopian.
