The long-awaited Marriott Marquis Chicago
will be the city’s sixth-largest hotel by guest-room count when it opens in September. But
more importantly, it will become McCormick
Place’s new headquarters hotel and the crux
of Chicago’s burgeoning McCormick Square
entertainment and hospitality district.
The 40-story hotel will have 1,205 guest
rooms, including 44 suites, offering stunning
views of the Chicago lakefront and South
Loop. Every guest room will come with high-
speed wireless internet, LCD TVs, and Marri-
ott’s plug-in technology panels, which allow
guests to plug their laptops into the TVs to
stream video or play music. The hotel’s Grand
Hospitality Suites, which come with expan-
sive living areas and access to the M Club
Lounge, will be ideal for small gatherings or
hosting VIPs. Guests with access to the M
Club Lounge will be able to start their day
with complimentary breakfast, catch up on
email in dedicated workspaces, and relax with
cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the evenings.
Speaking of exceptional dining, Marriott
Marquis Chicago is set to become the hot
new destination for inventive food-and-bev-erage experiences in Chicago. Tailored to
the convention goer, the hotel’s ground-floor
dining will feature chef-crafted options, perfect for a quick lunch in between meetings.
The Great Room Bar & Restaurant will offer
a more formal option for lunch and dinner,
and the Grab-N-Go market will serve gourmet
quick bites for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
As for meeting space, planners have
93,000 square feet to work with, including two 25,000-square-foot ballrooms and
43,000 square feet of breakout space. For
special functions, a 4,000-square-foot event
space on the 33rd floor will offer 180-degree
views of the city and Lake Michigan through
its floor-to-ceiling windows. And if groups
require even more space, the 2.6-million-
square-foot McCormick Place is only a skywalk away. Marriott Marquis Chicago will also
neighbor the 10,000-seat Wintrust Arena,
opening in the fall. The multipurpose venue
will host sporting events and concerts as well
as special events, meetings, and conventions.

Marriott Marquis Chicago
Reinventing Chicago’s convention landscape
District debut The opening of Marriott Marquis Chicago nearly completes the Collection
at McCormick Square, which consists of McCormick Place, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place,
and the 10,000-seat Wintrust Arena, anticipated
to open this fall.
Cheers to that With several restaurants, bars,
and a Grab-N-Go gourmet market, Marriott
Marquis Chicago is set not only to accommodate the largest of groups but to entertain them
with signature Chicago style and flair.
