Adding responsive TLC for improved metrics
Not feeling the love coming through in the
metrics for your great enewsletters? It might
be because your readers increasingly are
reading their email on smartphones. Many
of today’s traditional enewsletters are not
dynamically responsive, meaning that they
have been designed for desktop email inbox-es — and that your readers must pinch and
zoom to read them on their smartphone.
More than likely, your readers begin the
process of reading your enewsletter on their
smartphone, but it becomes too laborious. If
you’re lucky, they save the enewsletter until
they are at their desktop. If you’re not lucky,
they simply delete your email.
In the last 12 months, Ascend Integrated
Media, which sends more than 600 email
blasts a year for its more than 50 clients, has
detected that 50 percent of usage/engage-
ment/opens are now coming from mobile
devices. This change in email reading hab-
its is driving enewsletter senders to employ
responsive design, which takes your great
desktop look and feel and ensures that it is
right-sized for each Internet-accessing device.
You will find that adding this type of TLC to
the development of enewsletters will pay divi-
dends in open and click-through metrics — as
well as result in more satisfied readers.
Ascend is equally tuned in to the con-
vention space, engaging attendees through
daily newspapers, exhibit guides, and digital
communication tools, while also driving rev-
enue for association and exhibition partners
through the sale of exhibit space, registrations,
advertising, memberships, and sponsorships.
